Iconic international celebrity airhostess Pam Ann has evolved since first jetting out of her hometown of Melbourne 20 years ago. Pam is the alter-ego of Australian comedian-writer-producer Caroline Reid, and has developed a global cult like status with her masterful portrayal of an International Air hostess.

Pam’s barbed wit has seen her fly many a risky route and negotiate even the most politically incorrect flight path with her blisteringly funny take on the world of airlines and aircrew. Nothing is out of reach of her pristine white gloves, strutting up the aisle with a cart full of beautifully unpredictable, acerbic airline satire. There’s not much Pam hasn’t seen or done – from crewing Elton John’s private jet at his express request, sharing a stadium stage on a tour of the UK with Cher, and counting Madonna in her legion of devoted fans worldwide.

When she’s not jet-setting with the stars or flying the world sourcing material for her next performance, she can be found selling-out every stage she hits – from New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom to San Francisco’s Castro Theatre, Sydney’s iconic State Theatre to Melbourne’s Athenaeum. She’s headlined at the legendary Caroline’s on Broadway in New York, performed at the prestigious London Palladium and the Royal Albert Hall. True to her status as an international comedy icon, she’s toured UK, Ireland, Australia, Hong Kong, USA, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Denmark, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Iceland, Norway, Finland, Belgium, France and Canada. In her native Australia, Pam Ann even starred on her own television talk show, ‘The Pam Ann Show’ on the national Foxtel channel. And she has sailed the seas entertaining the gays on over 70 cruises in the past 15 years.

Now, along with Voss Events, she brings us her brand-new show Pam Ann Returns. From feeding the birds in coach to flying kites in first class, Pam Ann’s barbed wit has seen her hilariously negotiate even the most politically incorrect flight path.
GED Magazine caught up with Pam on a layover in London and had come laughs.

We are excited to hear that you will kick off your new world tour Pam Ann Returns with Voss Events in Los Angeles. What fun new surprises can fans expect in your new show?

I’m thrilled to be flying back to North America. So much has gone down since my last time there… Notre Dame is now known as Notre Vuitton and as of this week, I’m the official nanny to Meg and Harry’s bundle of joy. I hate kids but this little bugger is a First-Class Royal so I will make an acceptance. In Pam Ann Returns, the show will be full of magical surprises and hysterical movie spoofs including “Mary Poppers,” a film that transports me into the original Mary Poppins movie. It’s SUPERcalifragilisticallyAMAZING! There will be lots of sparkly new costumes by Garo Sparro, and I’ve just purchased all of the Boeing Max’s at a discounted price and renamed them Boeing Maxine, so be prepared to be taken on a magical scary flight to who knows where!

Will there be appearances by any of the Global Alliance Members in the new show?

Lily (Singapore Airlines) might make a cameo. Lily would sacrifice passenger safety for her Gucci handbag. And possibly we might see new Canadian flight attendants Florence and Rosemary.

For readers who are not familiar with Pam Ann and your sense of humor, can you sum it up for them?

My take on the world of airlines and aircrew may require a spoonful of sugar, a Xanax and some ‘Mary Poppers’, but you will enjoy the ride. I improvise and tell my stories through my real-life experiences and observations. Madonna once said I was “Cruelly Funny.”

How has Pam evolved since first jetting out of Melbourne Australia over 20 years ago?

I’ve been gifted with the opportunity to live a carefree life and travel the world doing what I love. I’ve met many incredible friends along the way and am still flying high, so to speak. My shows are certainly ‘take no prisoners” style. I suggest turning off your f*cking phones during the show.

You’ve been around the world and back several times. Can you tell us where is your favorite travel destination (preferably the spot with the hottest men)?

I live in my favorite travel destination MIAMI! I’ve lived in London for 10 years and New York City for eight years, but Miami is where it’s at… the men are super-hot and wear next to nothing!

You are also one of the select few people in the world to say they were crew on Elton John’s private jet. Was there naked men and flowing booze? Did he make you sing “Take Me to the Pilot”?

Porn stars and Superstars, darling. But a private airhostess can’t reveal the details.

You are one talented lady! But everyone has a secret/hidden talent…. What’s yours?

I can blow bubbles! Seriously I can.
