For over a decade, Cake Moss has been serving it up as one of the premier drag entertainers in Southern California. Not only is she a mainstay in West Hollywood, but she has traveled the world slaying stages and collecting phone numbers – the boys love her. She continues her philanthropic and volunteer work doing throughout Los Angeles and makes it her mission to incorporate an inclusive blend of artists in all her music projects – have you downloaded “Shade” and “ThotCock” yet? You can see her leading the show every Saturday at Micky’s Weho with a rotating cast of performers from across the drag spectrum – it’s the perfect remedy for that Friday hangover. She stopped by to spill the tea for this month’s GED Drag Centerfold Rapid Fire!

Hometown:

Bitch, I’m from Cleveland!

How did you come up with your drag name?

My dance mother, Apollo Sadeek. We were on our way to a lovely rendition of “Ghetto Stiletto”(Apollo’s dance class) after an even lovelier blunt, and we were stretching, and I said “oooh bitch, I feel like Kate Moss right now” and he turned around and said, “BITCH DID YOU JUST SAY CAKE MOSS?” I gagged and said, “BITCH, NO! BUT YES!” and boom. I googled Cake Moss for 2 weeks to make sure there were no other queens or entertainers named that and all that popped up were pictures of Kate Moss and edible moss for specialty cakes!

What’s your guilty pleasure?

Dark rooms at nightclubs.

Favorite part about doing drag?

My favorite part about doing drag is performing and being on stage, but also the times that people message or come up to you and confide in you that you have inspired them to be themselves. I love drag because Cake is me at my best.

Least favorite part about doing drag?

Definitely tucking, high high-heels, and gluing things to my face and body orifices.

Craziest drag story?

That’s hard cause the amount of insanity that happens to queens is overwhelming, to pinpoint would be hard! I’d have to say one of my most amazing experiences was doing the VMAs with Miley Cyrus! You can’t even explain that feeling of walking onto that stage and seeing all your idols watching you.

Most un-drag thing you do?

My day job! I sell weed! Been a trap daddy since I was 15, I even used to run a trap house!

Strangest hobby or talent?

I mean, most people find it strange that I’m a rapper, but it’s one of my best talents! I even ghostwrite for artists that y’all bop too all the time!

What celebrity most needs a drag makeover?

Da Baby.

Favorite nightlife hotspot?

My favorite nightlife spot is and will always be the amazing MICKYS!! I also host a brunch show there every Saturday called “Bring it Back to Brunch,” we start at 1 pm with a lovely rotating cast of queens from all over the world!

Favorite non-profit organization?

Definitely AHF (AIDS Healthcare Foundation). They do so much for the community with all kinds of things from awareness, testing, and even housing help. Great job everyone!

Favorite binge food?

Dole Whip!

Go-to cocktail?

My go-to cocktail (also featured on the Mickys menu) is “Cakes Kool-Aid.” It’s a Casa Rica Blanco tequila with soda water, watermelon Redbull, and tropical punch Kool-Aid flavoring! It’s very sweet!! I’ve been adding Kool-Aid to my drinks for years.

What would the name of your biography be?

Well, technically I am currently writing a book! It’s a two-part book I’ve titled Cake Chronicles: BC (Before Cake) the 2nd book is Cake Chronicles: AD (After Drag).

Favorite song to perform to?

Literally anything from Todrick or Qveen Herby.

What is your after-drag ritual?

Covering thine face with Albolene, baby wiping the F outta my face, then applying a CBD/TCH cream to my skin, usually a blunt or cannabis in many forms, and snacks/tv shows!

What’s your favorite pickup line?

It’s from Party Monster and ALWAYS works on boys who haven’t been to Weho: “Drink ticket? I’ve got tons of them!”

What is your favorite cake to eat?

Ice-cream cake.

Strangest place you’ve had “relations”?

This random bathroom in a resort when I was in Cancun. One of my resort guides followed me to the showers!

Where can we find and follow you?

You can find me all over West Hollywood and the country! She’s a traveling queen! Follow me on Instagram and my other socials at @MsCakeMoss
