With a sense of humor dryer than the hottest day in Palm Springs, Rosemary Galore hit the scene a relatively short time ago and has emerged like a sassy butterfly, giving back to the community, and hosting multiple shows in the Coachella Valley. She is no stranger to the microphone and her runway walk has been seen in Fashion Week New York.

During the pandemic, Rosemary went digital and created two weekly shows to keep audiences engaged with a Joan Rivers-like rundown from the week, a cocktail bigger than her ego (is that possible?), and a Faye Dunaway pose on a chaise lounge. Post-COVID, Rosemary created PS Drag Brunch, Palm Springs’ hottest dim sum drag Sunday show, recently filmed a scene for the upcoming season of Vanderpump Rules and is also collaborating with PS Cultural Center for their Saturday night Sing-Along and her new Drag High Tea experience! Did I mention she’s charitable too?! A portion of each ticket sold at PS Drag Brunch benefits Sanctuary House Palm Springs, and with PS Cultural Center more charitable work continues! But don’t let her charitable efforts fool you, she’ll cut a bish who takes her parking spot and she’ll read a Queen who can’t contour.

Rosemary is launching our new, Playboy-worthy, Drag Queens of Palm Springs centerfold. She answered everything but her age…but rumor has it she performed at Moses’ retirement party.

Hometown: Castro Valley/Bay Area

How did you come up with your drag name?

Whilst dating a very dull butch man who lived in the Sonoma wine country, I asked him what’s this plant you have here (on your cascading mountainside property?) He looks and says- “oh that’s Rosemary… I’ve got Rosemary Galore!” And I thought hmmm that’d be a great drag name, and 15 years later, it is!

How long have you lived in Palm Springs?

I moved here five years ago in 2016, but it seems like 20!

What do you love about Palm Springs the most?

Believe it or not the people & the weather. Most people here choose to be here and are rather happy about it and the heat makes everything feel better until it’s 120°… nothing makes that feel better!

Favorite part about doing drag?

The glamour, the camp! Having the ability to change an audience member’s perspective or feeling is wonderful! I love to make people laugh and enjoy life to the fullest and hopefully, they will leave a little more “Galorious” than before they met me.

Least favorite part about doing drag?

Unprofessionalism. Plain and simple. Do the best job you can do or don’t do it. Also, getting glammed here in the desert can be challenging, and don’t you dare say ‘but it’s a dry heat’ there’s nothing dry about it!

PS AIR Takes Flight

Craziest drag story:

After being in drag for 8 months being asked to walk Net York Fashion Week 2020! It was just 1 month before lockdown! A whirlwind weekend of air travel, models, fashion, press, and ME!

The most un-drag thing you do?

Underwear Night at the Tool Shed, I’m pretty sure that counts! Either that or nothing because Rosemary won’t let me!

Strangest hobby or talent:

Pretty sure this counts as a strange hobby – although it could be listed as a talent too… I love to do a nice Joan Crawford cleanse occasionally… throw everything out of the closet, scream at the mess I’ve made, have some drinks, and then make someone else clean it up! And yes, I can handle the socks.

What celebrity most needs a drag makeover:

Betty White! I think that is the only thing she hasn’t done yet, and yes- I’m available Betty.

Favorite Palm Springs hotspot:

Definitely 1501 Gastropub! It’s new, it’s giant and you’re going to love it! Beautifully wooden, this restaurant has a wonderful ambiance with unforgettable dishes.

Favorite Palm Springs non-profit:

Sanctuary House! And very happy to donate a portion of each ticket sold from PS Drag Brunch.

Favorite Palm Springs restaurant:

Roly China Fusion- best dim sum in the valley! They also have awesome crafted cocktails.

Go-to cocktail:

My signature drink, the Vodka Surprise! I’d like flavored vodka and surprise me with everything else!

What would the name of your biography be?

Everything’s Coming Up Rosemary!

Favorite song to perform to:

“Please Don’t Touch Me!” It’s from Young Frankenstein The Musical, sung by Megan Mullaly. To me, it’s the perfect blend of camp, wit and let’s face it…tits! I love giving the audience a full story when I perform, and this song just moves me in all the right ways! And did I mention the tits?!

What is your after-drag ritual?

After removing Rosemary, I love to relax in silence for a few minutes while replaying the events of the day. And turning back into a man is quite nice as well especially when all the parts go back to where they came from

What’s your favorite pickup line? Hello gorgeous! Is THAT for me?!
