Life After Bravo TV with Craig Ramsay and Brandon Liberati

By Alexander Rodriguez

Meet Craig Ramsay and Brandon Liberati, power entertainment couple and reality TV aficionados.  Their relationship became public domain as the first year of their marriage was front and center for Bravo TV’s Newlyweds.  Since then, they’ve dominated the social media market and have extended their reality TV appearance to a number of projects, showing there is life after reality TV.  Personally, they’ve had successful careers in their profession – Craig enjoyed time on Broadway and has served as a celebrity trainer to major celebrities and fellow reality stars and has been seen as a fitness expert on every major entertainment outlet; Brandon continues travelling around the nation as celebrity stylist to major stars, most of whom he becomes close friends with.  I had the chance to sit with the dynamic duo for this GED exclusive:

How did you guys get involved with Bravo’s Newlyweds?

Craig ~ Having been on Bravo’s fitness series “Thintervention” I was on their radar and I believe both network & casting followed my social media and saw that I was head over heels for Brandon & engaged. They reached out to find out if we were interested in opening up our relationship and marriage with America.

What was the shooting schedule like?

Shooting schedule was way too much for what was needed. We filmed for a year and a half and I would say at least half that time was in front of cameras. But we have no regrets. We are who we are and have nothing to hide and no shame.

How do you keep the spark alive in your relationship?

Well… those are our little and sometimes BIG secrets (laughs out loud.) We have to catch ourselves becoming complacent in our relationship so little cost efficient get-a-ways like Vegas or Cedar Point amusement park help keep things alive and romantic between us. Morning and evening check-ins are also essential. Sexy texts and photos or videos to each other are fun and keep our relationship spicy.

What’s up next for you guys?

Craig ~ I have a new sexy and humorous series “He’s Fit” coming out this fall with “Hey Qween TV” & “Out TV” with the talented Jonny McGovern directing and producing.

Brandon ~ making America beautiful again with regular appearances on talk shows, reality shows, and stay tuned for my podcast “Sunset Stripped” with Co-hosts Mercedes Javid of “Shahs of Sunset” & my husband Craig Ramsay.

Craig, you recently returned to Mamma Mia, what was it like coming back to that show in a different role?

18 years after appearing as an original cast member of the hit Musial Mamma Mia I returned to play potential “muscle” Daddy Bill Austin. It was thrilling to be back in a show that brought me into the US from Canada and started my career.

How did you prepare for the role physically and vocally?

The physical (dance, physique) and vocals were there already naturally in my mind and body. It was getting back into the acting onstage after so many years of reality TV that scared the crap out of me! Luckily it was like riding a bike and I immediately tapped into not only the acting techniques of creating a role, but the love of exercising the script and score with rehearsals.

How was your opening night?

Thrilling! The gratitude and I love I felt for ACT of Connecticut artistic team, staff and for my fellow actors was explosive. To share the experience with my husband Brandon who wasn’t in the picture when I previously performed on Broadway was very good for our relationship. He didn’t know this side of me until opening night and watching me onstage.

Will theater become a bigger part of your life?

YES! YUP! OUI!

What are some key fitness/nutritional tips for people on the go?

When in doubt I can always find a salad. And if I absolutely can’t control he desire for fries. I’ll order them as a meal all on its own and eat them slowly like I’m making out (French kissing) with each individual French fry. That way I’m keeping my calorie intake much lower than if I were to eat a meal with a side of fries.

You train a number of celebrities.  Do you have to approach them differently from mainstream clients?

Every single person, including celebrities, is different. So yes, I approach people differently to understand and respect their unique needs and necessities. However, we are all human and that comes with similar traits where most of us do not enjoy exercising and eating clean every single day. With me as your trainer, I pass along the tricks of the trade which allow you to have your cake and literally eat it too.

Brandon, you have established some great friendships out of your celebrity client base.  Why do you think your clients respond to you so well?

There is more to what I do then just hair when I’m with a client especially celebrity client. I have a unique sensitivity to the high demand both personally and professionally that are placed on celebrities and that’s from having my own experiences and exposure as a TV personality and social media influencer. I do my job to make clients look fantastic but also I make them feel fantastic, they have a friend when they have me as their stylist.

How do you keep on top of all the latest hair and style trends?

It is my job to not only research on a daily basis current styles but also Foresee where the hair industry is going. I work with many product companies and other stylist to help create those trends.  I help and guide my clients to discover their look.

What are the basic must haves that everyone should have in terms of hair products?

If you want professional looking hair you have to have professional products. For starters @lorealhair Elnett hairspray; some @hairtalkusa extensions help to add some volume to your hair and life; @theouai hair care products smell as good as they look; a perfect blowout using @RandCoHair products; and always have a few @chloeandisabel hair accessories on hand to glam up any day/evening hair look.

You must experience a lot of the behind the scenes drama from photo and film shoots to red carpets – what is your best advice for talent to remember?

Oh I have my tricks to get my clients to sit and settle in my chair. A glass of wine, libation or coffee occupies them just enough to create a masterpiece.
