Can a porn star find love?  Could you date a porn star?  We sat down with adult film star Cade Maddox and his boyfriend, Instagram favorite Kevin Benoit.  The two look like a perfect pair – perfect bodies, killer smiles, and perfectly chiseled jaw lines that need no Face Tune.  They are quickly becoming the “couple about town” appearing on red carpets for film premieres, award shows and nightclub events.  But the two must face a barrage of social media haters and the jealousies of dating someone who has sex on camera, all on top of the regular relationship and dating issues that can occur between two gay men.

Cade is a gentleman, with a slight drawl and a tip of a hat, he seems like he would be as comfortable on the Gone with the Wind set as he is on a porn set.   Cade is one of the most popular and successful performers in the business.  Originally from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, Maddox entered the industry in 2017 and had a breakout year in 2018, appearing in scenes for numerous studios.  He was nominated for Best Newcomer (and Hottest Newcomer in the Fan Awards) at the GayVN Awards; and picked up a whopping eight nominations at this year’s Grabby Awards as well as nominations for the Cybersocket and GayVN Awards.

Don’t let Kevin Benoit’s quiet demeanor fool you.  He is not a shy one and has opinions to share.  When he raises his eyebrows at you, you know you are in trouble.  He started acting at the age of eleven in Montreal Canada on TV as well as national commercials, in English and French, for pretty much every brand from Pepsi, AT&T, Coca-Cola, Pontiac, GM, Guitar Idol and so many more. He studied television and radio broadcasting in Montreal which led to hosting talk shows, a radio show and web shows. He started modeling around the age of 14 years old after being discovered in a showcase in Ontario and represented various fashion brands for international campaigns.

I had the fun pleasure to share a drink or two (or three) with this socialite couple and sit down for a GED exclusive to find out a little about each one of their personalities as well as chat about how their relationship works.

Cade Maddox:

What was your upbringing like?  Were you the class jock?

I was kind of weird in school. I was always very athletic and played sports, but I wouldn’t consider myself a “jock”. People didn’t even start noticing me until my Senior year when I won this Beauty & Beau Pageant our school put on, where I won “Most Handsome”, “Audience’s Choice”, and “Judge’s Choice”.

How did you get into the industry?

I had just gotten a divorce from my husband of three years. I was going through a hard time and went to visit my mom in Cincinnati. While there, this producer named Jason Sparks hit me up on Grindr and asked if I had ever thought about doing porn. I said, “no, but that would be pretty fuckin cool” and the rest is history…

How did you create your star name?

I had always been in love with the name Cade. At one point in my life, I thought it would be what I was going to name my son. Or Caydence, if it was a girl… Anyway, so after I filmed my first scene for Jason, he told me I needed to think of a stage name. I told him Cade, and he literally Googled “last names for Cade”. He was going down the list and Maddox just struck a chord with the four people that were in the room. And Cade Maddox was born.

How do you prepare for a day on set?

The preparation starts the day before. Typically, call time is early (9/10am), so I like to try and be in bed by a decent hour as days on set can be very long. I’m usually tired after I finish filming a scene. All I want to do after is go home, relax and smoke some weed. [Laughs.]

What are your personal pet peeves about working with other stars on set?

I have a few, but mainly, I can’t stand to work with people who think they’re better than everyone else. That’s just unattractive. Show up ready to go and ready to work with everyone.

Is it hard to maintain a relationship while working in the adult industry?

I think dating/maintaining a relationship outside of the industry is hard so, yeah, I think it’s a little tougher when you’re in the industry or dating someone in the industry. I feel like as long as you have great communication between your partner and yourself, you can take on the world together.

Do you watch your own films when they come out?

No. I usually only see the trailers that get released on Twitter. Just because I’m so critical of myself.

Kevin Benoit:

You started out at an early age as a model and on-air host. How has the entertainment industry changed the most since your time in it?

I am lucky enough to have been, I think, one of the last generations to be able to be in entertainment before all the social media and everything that we have now. I think that was better because the television content and quality was better. Also, the pressure of being always perfect wasn’t as bad and having a private life was still available. What I mean is, you were excited when Life and Style did a feature on you, or someone you like, showing their house – now it’s already online.

Your upbringing and entertainment training were in Canada. What surprised you the most about how people live in Los Angeles?

Well my initial schooling was in Montreal, but at 19, I came to Los Angeles for on-camera acting training. What surprised me the most was that in LA it’s mostly very rich or poor – the middle class is much harder to see compared to where I’m from. In Canada, the middle class is the most seen class.

Is Cade the first person from the adult entertainment world that you have dated?

Yes, he’s the first, but I have a lot of friends and acquaintances in that industry.

Are there any jealousy issues or did it take you time to adjust to seeing Cade film with other men?

I’m a firm believer that jealousy is a good thing in a relationship – I mean to an extent. But yes, at first, I honestly was so jealous that I didn’t think this would last more than a season. It still is, at sometimes, but we talk it through and then realize it’s mostly in my head. Sometimes it’s his fault. [Laughs].

Do you watch Cade’s films when they come out?

So, I had never watched any of his “films”. I’m not a big porn watcher to begin with. I will watch the trailer or scroll through them when they come out.

It may sound Good on Paper about their Relationship but I do not think They are being Honest. Cade Maddox has become a fairly popular Star in the Porn Industry and If Kevin was being realistic with the Relationship He would have More than taking an occasional Glance at the Trailers. Many of this Relationships ‘fizzle’ because they are Open Relationships from the Start and involve multiple Partners and No Boundaries…..NoStrings,Minimal Expectations. Hopefully They are Long Term but make a Go of It but being Delusional will Cloud Most People’s judgement.
