Artist Spotlight admin April 8, 2020 Lifestyle, NOW Ernesto Ramirez was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and grew up in Mazatlán, Mexico. He created his first art piece at age 12, which won a school competition. Throughout his youth he had a passion for arts, building, design and creativity, so he decided to go back to Guanajuato to become an Architect at the University of Guanajuato. During college, he rediscovered his passion for painting. After graduating college, he lived and worked as an Architect in various cities throughout Mexico. In 2001, he moved to Los Angeles and worked in construction and as a successful bathroom/kitchen designer. Living in Long Beach since 2007 and part-time in Palm Springs since 2008, Ernesto began painting full-time in 2017. “There is beauty in everything and every individual. This is what I want to share through my art. I like to use bright colors, patterns and darkness in my paintings,” says Ernesto. Continuing, “As a child one of my favorite movies was Tarzan, mostly because I loved his loyal friend, Cheetah. He was the cutest and smartest chimpanzee I’d ever seen.
