The Rat Pack Lives On at Purple Room

Sinatra and the boys had style, sophistication and hipness that went well with the Palm Springs of the 1960s.  Fast forward to 2013, and you too can feel like one of the Rat Pack at one of the establishments that actually was one of their original hangouts – the Purple Room.  “This is one of only two remaining places in Palm Springs where the Rat Pack used to hang out” said Tony Marchese.

No expense was spared in this modernized version of the 1960s Supper Club, which has live music and entertainment, great drinks, and that hip factor that makes you think the images of Frank or Dean are going to leap off the wall.   You’re probably already familiar with the owners of Purple Room, Tony and Mark, from their other signature restaurant in Palm Springs, TRIO.

The Purple Room was built November 5, 1960 and fast became the hot spot to be.  The newly remodeled Purple Room opened just a few days before its 53rd Anniversary.  Home to jazz, blues and a host of other entertainment, Purple Room is ready to party.  Friday and Saturday nights The Gand Band brings their retro mix of vintage blues, rock, soul and jazz.  The Judy Show starring Michael Holmes has a new home at Purple Room for a dinner show on Sunday nights.  Coming up later this month (November 17th and 24th), Tony Award Nominated actress Sharon McNight will perform “Twisted Xmas: A Druid’s View of the Holidays!”

Dinner is Continental with a full menu ranging from steaks and fish, to a large selection of small plates such as Deviled Eggs and Sloppy Joe Sliders.  An added bonus is that food service continues late into the evening – until midnight Tuesday through Sunday, with a late night menu being served until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Purple Room boasts live entertainment six nights a week, happy hour from 3-7pm, daily dinner specials and late night food service.  Purple Room is located at 1900 E. Palm Canyon Drive in the Club Trinidad Resort.  For dinner or show reservations, menus and more information, go to
