DJ-Spotlight-Robbie-Rivera

One of the most respected DJ/producers in the world, Miami’s Robbie Rivera is a true superstar. His distinctive brand of sexy, pounding, dirty, electro-tinged house music ignites dance floors across the globe. His breakthrough track “Bang” reached top 10 on the UK and Australian charts, was used in the Sydney Olympics, and sold over 500,000 copies. “Which Way You’re Going” from his debut album reached #1 on the Billboard dance charts as did his “Burning” collaboration with Axwell. But, perhaps Rivera’s biggest track to date would be the worldwide smash “Funkatron,” a track cited as an influence to many of today’s house classics. These tracks are only limited highlights in an illustrious career that also include “Back To Zero,” “Girlfriend” and a stunning number of other dance floor hits, plus remixes for the likes of Madonna, Kylie Minogue, Ricky Martin, Santana, David Guetta, Pink, Tiesto, Kaskade, Basement Jaxx and many more. The jewel in Rivera’s crown is his label, Juicy Music, whose roster includes some of the biggest names in dance music, and which spawned the Juicy Beach parties at Miami’s WMC featuring A-list DJs, and the Juicy Ibiza offshoot. Rivera also has a highly-rated syndicated radio show, ‘The Juicy Show’ heard worldwide on satellite and FM radio.

juicy-ibizaBorn in 1973 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Rivera had his first encounter with music when he was only 10 years old. Buying records from acts like New Order, Depeche Mode and U2, it wasn’t long before he started spinning records. At age 13, Rivera didn’t know what beat mixing was, until it happened accidentally.  He taught himself and while improving his mixing skills, he started producing music with a drum machine and doing his own edits of tracks using a 2 track reel to reel machine.  In 1992 Rivera moved to Miami and in 1996 he released his first record, a real Latin house track on Juicy Music: ‘Robbie Rivera – El Sorrullo’.  Established labels ate up his tracks.  His track ‘Bang’ being first crossover hit and cuts like ‘Sex’ and ‘Funkatron’ were huge.  In 1998 Rivera established his own label, Juicy Music, and has been consistently innovating world class music since then.

Rivera will be headlining the 1LIFE Festival over the July 4th weekend, as well as San Diego Pride on July 19th.  For more information on these events, to go http://1LifeFest.com and http://SanDiegoPride.org.
