Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is February 6th-13th in New York City.  The Spring 2014 collections of some of the hottest designers on the planet will strut their stuff on the runways.

todd-synderOne of those designers is Iowa native, Todd Synder, who has worked with Polo Ralph Lauren, J. Crew and the Gap.  Inspired by Saville Row craftsmanship, military tailoring, and a distinct New York sensibility, the line has garnered wide critical and commercial praise in the US. In 2012, Synder was named one of GQ’s Best New Menswear Designers. More recently, Snyder was selected as one of the 2013 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists. During that time he launched his Todd Snyder + Champion collaboration with the iconic Rochester, NY-based sportswear brand, and opened his first New York boutique, called City Gym.  Available at Nordstrom and Barneys.

BLTEE2Another of the designers that will be on the runway at Fashion Week is Southern California’s own Brian Lichtenberg, with his smartly executed range of universally chic streetwear, BLTEE.  While the California native has been the go-to designer for the music industry’s biggest pop stars for over a decade, dressing songstresses from Beyonce to Rihanna to Miley Cyrus, it is the runaway success of his uber clever BLTEE Collection that has made Lichtenberg the one to watch, placing him firmly on fashion’s very discerning radar. The BLTEE Collection incorporates Lichtenberg’s signature sense of humor and cheeky style with high fashion.   Raised in Southern California, Lichtenberg has drawn inspiration from a host of creative friends, none of whom were ever slaves to fashion trends, but instead to genuine self-expression and creativity.  Los Angeles, distanced from the New York and Europe scene, has the luxury of operating “outside the box,” so to speak.  It is from this place that Lichtenberg has had the freedom to take fashion into consideration without ever taking it too seriously. Tongue firmly planted in cheek, Lichtenberg’s designs are at the same time both reverential and autonomous.  Lichtenberg’s designs are accessible pieces not just worn by celebrities and supermodels, but by everyone. The new BLTEE has quickly become massive cult phenomenon. BLTEE can be found hanging with leading designers at both specialty boutique shops as well as high-end department stores.
