1#1     It’s a world of color.  Bright’s, ice cream brights and  sherbet tones.  If that is not you, so what!  Enjoy neutrals  (ie tan, camel, white, off white, gray and of course old faithful black.  Black goes with everything.  And then there are jeans, which go with all of the above.  We live in a world today where you can pretty much wear jeans anywhere.  Dress them up with a blazer or dress them down with a tee shirt.  Wear what makes you comfortable.  With a little practice you will develop your own style.

#2        Shape is another important component of fashion.   Yet, too much newness in shape can be a fad and won’t last in your wardrobe.  Stick with the classics in great colors, textures and fit, and your wardrobe will last for a very long time.   Never hurts to spice up your selection of clothes with a spot of your range of color.  It can make everything you might have look new.

#3        Fit is a small detail that can make or break a look.  So many of us go into a store, throw something on and walk out of the store and just wear it.  I have a phrase I use a lot.  “Don’t let the clothes wear you, you wear the clothes.”  Find a great item or look (blazer, slacks etc.) and if it looks good,  buy it.  Then take it to a tailor and have it adjusted (only if necessary) to your body.  It can make a world of difference in how you look and feel.  We are not all built the same and manufacturers pick a range of common measurements to create their standard specs and fit.  Personalize your clothes to you and your body.

#4        Accessories.   Those small items that help enhance your overall look. (ie  scarves, jewelry, hats etc. )  If a look is complete and strong, you don’t need much in terms of accessories.  When a look is weak, or flat, so to speak, accessories can add a great deal of fun and punch to your look and presentation.
